Our Story
Astraia Billing Solutions was born from a shared passion for recovery and service. Krista and Mark met in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic—a time of uncertainty that brought clarity to what truly mattered: connection, purpose, and helping others find hope. Although they came from very different backgrounds, both shared a personal journey in sobriety and a deep commitment to supporting the recovery community.
With years of experience in leadership, operations, and customer service, Krista built a strong foundation in management and client relations. Her focus has always been on efficiency, integrity, and creating positive experiences for those she serves.
Mark, a private chef for over two decades, spent much of his career working directly within treatment centers. In addition to his culinary work, he served as a Residential Assistant (RA), where he worked hands-on with clients, supporting them through their recovery journeys. This experience allowed him to gain a deep understanding of treatment center operations—from the day-to-day care of clients to the administrative processes that keep programs running smoothly. Through these roles, Mark developed valuable insight into
how services are structured, what resources are available, and how to optimize both client care and operational efficiency to maximize revenue while maintaining quality care.
As their paths intertwined, Krista and Mark saw an opportunity to combine their skills into something meaningful—a business that could directly support the facilities helping people change their lives. Krista returned to school to earn her Associate of Science in Medical Billing and Coding and is now pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Arizona State University. What started as a small idea soon grew into Astraia Billing Solutions.
At Astraia, we understand the unique needs of substance abuse and behavioral health treatment centers because we’ve walked in those shoes. Our mission is to provide transparency, communication, and peace of mind—serving as an extension of your team so you can focus on what matters most: helping people heal.
